we use the term itinerary very loosely here. it is very likely that we will collect mail at each of following addresses along our way. it is very very unlikely that we will do so on the dates listed. the post office might not even be open on some of these dates. this is our best guess, though, so… send us mail anyway! if you decide to do so, please see the notes below.

sending us mail

i hate to discourage you with all sorts of instructions because, believe me, there’s nothing we’d rather get along the way than a postcard or letter from you. but, in order to make sure your efforts aren’t wasted and we actually get the mail you send, here are a few tips:

  • mail takes longer to remote post offices, so plan for extra time in transit.
  • we may get lucky and arrive a few days ahead of schedule. send it early!
  • note that the first five stops are in canada. mail to canada requires international postage.
  • we’re using the general delivery system, which means that we have to ask the clerk at the post office for our mail. if you want to make sure we get your letter/package, send us an email so that we know to ask for it. it ruins the surprise, i know, but it’s the only way to make sure we get it.

You two are CRAZY!!! What a wonderful adventure. I must say at my ripe old age I would not want to do it but if I were a “little” younger I might have. Dean I love you and wish you many happy, exciting adventures. I look forward to keeping up-to-date on your summer time fun by visiting your blog frequently.
    Love,
    Ton

Scott and I are sitting at his folks place in Juneau looking out at the ocean and admirality island. saw a kayaker in the distance and thought of you guys so decided to check in.

Glad it sounds like you’re having a great trip! We just rented a kayak to do a half day while we’re in Glacier Bay next month (first overnight trip without our daughter) so we’re inspired!
